Home Buyers Demand Fast, Reliable Broadband
Access to the national broadband network (NBN) is now available to buyers of homes in new developments and, similar to the US, buyers are indicating that high-speed broadband is a priority when making decisions of where they will live.
The NBN is intended to be in 286,000 Australian homes by June 2013 with access being available to every Australian home by 2021. Presently, the federal opposition are claiming that the NBN is a ‘white elephant’ because only 30,000 people are signed up.
Those who have taken out home loans or made other arrangements to fund the purchase of homes in new developments have the opportunity to experience the NBN faster than everyone else. In 314 new apartment buildings or housing estates around Australia, the network is already available.
For so many people, internet speed and a fast reliable service is immeasurably important. 26 year old Andrew Brown claims that at a new development in Waterloo, considerably faster internet speeds are available and at a lower cost than traditional copper internet lines, thanks to the NBN.
