Volvo Creates a Leading Luxury Hatchback in its V40
Buyers of hatchback cars now want vehicles that offer all the features and benefits of luxury cars – but in a smaller package. As a result, leading automotive companies, including: Mercedes Benz, VW, Audi and BMW, are producing and offering high quality hatchback options.
Volvo has now entered the field with its impressive V40 range. The V40 range is very similarly priced to the A-Class by Mercedes Benz, although it is $1550 more expensive if metallic paint is desired.
The styling on the five door V40 is impeccable, although the popular 1.6 litre petrol turbo engine is not available for this car.
Many believe the V40 is the most visually appealing of all premium brand hatchbacks currently available. With six variants in the range – including: two diesel and two petrol varieties in the grades: Kinetic, Luxury and R-Design, there is plenty of choice.
The base model of the V40 range is priced at $34,990 and has a 1.6 litre turbo diesel engine and a manual six-speed transmission. All other cars in the range have five cylinder engines.
This car achieved the highest Euro NCAP crash test rating of all cars tested. In Australia’s ANCAP safety system, this result is validated.
