Online lender market’s most competitive

Leading online mortgage lender, loans.com.au, today released Australia's most competitive fixed interest residential mortgage. With a rate of 6.29 % per annum, it is substantially lower than other available products.

This is the second time the Brisbane-based lender has delivered the market's lowest rate home loan since launching in June this year.

Loans.com.au Managing Director Mrs Marie Mortimer said this is an aggressive interest rate aimed at providing borrowers a alternative to the major lenders and is set to make a real difference to the Australian mortgage market landscape.

"Loans.com.au has introduced the loan to entice new borrowers, as we are concerned that recent growth in market share of major lenders will threaten future competition in the market," Mrs Mortimer said.

"By offering a rate that is truly show stopping, we hope Australian borrowers stop and realise how much better off they could be by considering alternative lenders," she said.

"The dream loan express fixed rate home loan will be at the interest rate of 6.29 % p.a. fixed for 2 years. The rate will then revert to the dream loan express variable rate, currently 6.69 % p.a.

Since launching loans.com.au in June, we have noticed over half of our new customers are refinancing existing loans, to take advantage of our highly competitive rates.

We now see an opportunity to sharpen this rate further; as global markets have created a favourable interest rate environment and we are able to pass those benefits through to Australian borrowers.
