This September, eight passionate team members from loans.com.au including executives (Marie Mortimer, James Austin and Kevin Kehoe) took part in the Live Like Her Challenge, an initiative by The Forgotten Women to support women over 55 experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

They spent one night sleeping in their cars at Brisbane Airport, joining 387 others across 416 registered vehicles. loans.com.au raised $5,640 to help fund safe and long-term housing solutions for vulnerable women.

With more than 40,000 Queensland women over 55 currently facing housing insecurity and that number expected to double by 2036, this challenge shines a light on the ‘hidden homeless’ who are often overlooked.

Why do we support them?

At loans.com.au, we believe everyone deserves a safe place to call home. Older women are one of the fastest-growing groups facing homelessness, often due to rising living costs, limited superannuation and a lack of affordable housing.

By supporting The Forgotten Women, especially through Live Like Her Challenge, we are helping to create real, lasting change for women who need it most.

You can make a difference too by donating or spreading awareness, every action counts.
