This school holidays, our loans.com.au team did something a little different for our latest Eat Up Australia sandwich-making session. They brought their kids along. And together, parents and children made 2,090 sandwiches for students across the country who might otherwise go without lunch.
It was more than just a volunteering day. It was a chance to show the next generation that giving back isn't just something grown-ups do. It's something everyone can do. With schools out for the holidays, many of our team members would normally be juggling childcare. Instead, we turned that into an opportunity. Our staff brought their children along to the session, and they rolled up their sleeves right, spreading butter, stacking cheese and bread, and wrapping with the kind of enthusiasm that only kids can bring.

Why do we support them?
1 in 3 Australian students at the schools Eat Up supports need an Eat Up lunch. Children frequently arrive at school without the food they need to fuel their growing bodies and brains, and missing out on lunch causes fatigue, poor concentration, and can lead to learning difficulties and behavioural problems in school, with disadvantaged children falling further behind their peers.

How you can help:
Whether you're a workplace, an individual, or a family, Eat Up relies on volunteers and donations to continue their vital work. You can come along to their public sandwich-making events on your own or with family and friends, and kids under 12 are welcome, so long as they're accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Every sandwich counts. Every volunteer matters.
