As part of our continued support for the Women, Children, and Community program, team members from loans.com.au recently assisted The Pyjama Foundation with packing and assembling kits for National Pyjama Day. These kits will be distributed to schools, workplaces, and community groups across Australia to help raise awareness and funds for children living in foster care.
Many of these children have experienced trauma, neglect, and instability from a young age. Over time, these challenges can impact their confidence, ability to trust others, and core foundation for learning. Children in care tend to have lower educational attainment, lower employment prospects, higher rates of involvement in the criminal justice system, and higher teen pregnancy rates.
Did you know that 45,000+ Australian children are currently in out of home care?
The Pyjama Foundation helps empower and support vulnerable children by connecting dedicated volunteers known as 'Pyjama Angels' with them. Once a week, Pyjama Angels devote their time engaging in educational-based activities with their child, helping to foster a love for learning while building life skills and confidence.
How you can help:
The Pyjama Foundation relies on community support to continue making a meaningful impact on the lives of children in foster care. You can help by hosting your own fundraising event, donating, becoming a Pyjama Angel mentor, or spreading the word about the important work they do.
