We recently spent the day volunteering at the Share the Dignity head office, helping prepare bags as a part of their Its In The Bag campaign for women, girls and those who menstruate who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, domestic violence or poverty. These bags will be distributed to more than 3,500 charity partners across Australia in time for Christmas.

Throughout the session, we wrote personalised messages and packed almost 1,000 dignity bags, each containing essential hygiene products and personal care items. The bags will provide practical support to people in need while helping ensure access to everyday essentials that many of us take for granted. Knowing that nearly 1,000 people will be directly impacted by the day's efforts made the experience especially rewarding.

Gemma Hillier, Partnerships and Grants Coordinator at Share the Dignity, shared:

“This is loans.com.au fourth session with us at Share The Dignity, and support like this really is just remarkable. They pack about 1,000 bags per session, so that's over 4,000 women that the team have supported over the last couple of years. So, it’s just absolutely incredible to receive this ongoing support from the loans.com.au team.”

Why do we support them?

Share the Dignity is an Australian charity dedicated to supporting women, girls and anyone who menstruates who may be experiencing homelessness, domestic violence or financial hardship. Committed to achieving menstrual equity for all, they collect and distribute essential period products and personal care items to those who need them most. Through practical support, advocacy and community programs, Share the Dignity helps ensure no one has to choose between purchasing period products and meeting other basic needs.
