Tell us about yourself...
My name is Katie and I have an 8 year old boy and 5 year old girl, who keep me very busy with sports, social events, school programs….the list is endless! I love playing netball and look forward to my Monday night games each week. My family are sport crazy so we love the outdoors and keeping active. Going to the beach, camping, club sports are all on our list of favourite things to do.
What's your role and how long have you been with the company?
I work in the Loan Servicing Team and have been with the Firstmac group for 18 years.
What is your involvement with the loans.com.au Women, Children & Community Program?
I have donated to several of the charities we are associated with and was lucky enough to have experienced a volunteer day with the amazing organisation “Baby Give Back”.
What do you think of the Program?
It is such a rewarding and inspiring program to be a part of. Being able to lend a hand and provide support to our community is a great feeling and it really shows in how appreciative the charities are.
Why did you choose Baby Give Back as your volunteer day?
Being a Mum made my decision very easy. I was lucky enough to be able to access the items I needed for my babies, but knowing there are so many families out there who are doing it tough really breaks my heart. Being able to help out for just one day was such an eye opener. I felt so overwhelmed hearing the stories and it really makes me want to continue to help them in any way I can.
What would you say to someone considering volunteering?
Do it! Helping out anyway you can is one of the biggest rewards in life. Knowing you have made a difference in someone’s life is huge and you will feel so good for it.
