Tell us about yourself...

My name is Tracey and I have been married to my lovely husband Dave for 30 years this year! I have two amazing children Daniel and Charlotte and a beautiful new little granddaughter Mila who is just 9 months old. I love to cook. I am a feeder. I love walking and Studio Pilates.

What's your role and how long have you been with the company?

I head up the Human resources team and will have been at Firstmac for 16 years in February.

What is your involvement with the loans.com.au Women, Children & Community Program?

I was lucky enough to participate in the 110k Darkness to Daylight walk this year in aid of family and Domestic violence and also a Bake Off at Ronald McDonald House. I am also involved in participating in the Women in Finance networking group.

What do you think of the Program?

I think it is absolutely amazing and I have said in other communications that I am so proud to work for a company that supports the community in this way and that allows our staff to be involved. It is so rewarding.

Why did you choose these causes to get involved with?

I chose Darkness to Daylight as the statistics for family and domestic violence are just shocking and it is on the rise. Working in Human Resources I have personally dealt with staff over the years affected by this, whether actual victims or staff who have had family members affected by it and I will do anything no matter how small to try and make a difference as the destruction it causes has so many ripple effects for families.

I was so happy to go to Ronald McDonald house for a bake off with my colleagues. It was wonderful to be able to bake treats and see the smiles on the faces of the kids. I am blessed to have healthy children and a beautiful little healthy granddaughter and can’t imagine how hard it must be for the parents that stay there with their sick children. The staff there were incredible with them it is just a wonderful place.

What would you say to someone considering volunteering?

It is a very special thing to do and is so rewarding. Not just supporting the charity but doing it with your colleagues and seeing how it affects them too.
