Background

I was sick of throwing my money away paying rent to someone else so I started looking for a home of my own. With rates rising, it's a bit of a dodgy time to buy a house but I just felt like I was falling further and further behind so I was better off getting in anyway. Every month the rates were going up. I started off looking at a full-sized house. I'd have to move a bit far out of Brisbane for it but I was happy to do so. But then the interest rates went through the roof and it got too far out of reach so I settled for a townhouse. I could have gone for something a bit more expensive but it was too much of a risk with the rates going up.

Challenges

  • Finding a lender that would lend me the right amount for the home I wanted and give fair weight to an inheritance I had received.

“Best credit policies out of anyone and actually had a pretty good interest rate too.”

How did you find dealing with loans.com.au?

Excellent. I went to 15 different houses one weekend and I saw this one and I just wanted it. So I put a bid in and then all of a sudden that Monday I need to get pre-approval! I got it pretty quickly and it was all quite easy. One the way to final approval there was a fair bit of stuff to upload but it was all pretty self-explanatory. It was good to be able to log onto the OnTrack system and see what you needed to do. It was very easy. I could call up at any time and speak to someone if I had a question.
